Flashback 2025

Flashback Heinkenszand and Renesse 2025 – International Blackcurrant Growers meet in the Netherlands

Almost 70 delegates from 10 different countries attended the meeting

For all those who came : do you remember?

For all those who were unlucky enough not to attend the meeting: here is a glimpse of what happened in the Netherlands in June 2025.

Lauran Vermue, organizer of the growers meeting in the Netherlands, invited the conference delegates to visit his own farm, where he grows blackcurrants, beetroots, chicory and celery. He has his own freezing facility for the vegetables.

His son in law specializes in automation processes and has also developed a system to empty small crates of blackcurrants into big boxes.

The delegates have been welcomed with typical Dutch food, all prepared by the Vermue family.

After the field visit at the Vermue’s farm, the bus took the delegates to the Rijk family’s farm just a few kilometers away.

The Rijks grow blackcurrants, apples and pears.

Presentations have been held on various agronomic topics on 11th June in Renesse.

The beach bar close to the conference hotel “De Zeeuwse Stromen” was a lovely place for the conference dinner.
