Global Blackcurrant Surface & Yields Data
The global blackcurrant statistics in our tables include the amount of hectares planted with blackcurrants and the amount of blackcurrants harvested in every country.
The data come from three different sources:
- Data provided by representatives of all blackcurrant growing countries (as far as we could find them).
- Statistics collected from Eurostats (European statistical information).
- Statistics collected from Faostats, the statistics of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UNO. Please be aware that these data include both black AND red currants. These data also include estimations on crop grown non-commercially.
Please be aware that to ease reading, we have removed the countries where less than 100 hectares are grown with blackcurrants .
The IBA also shares and comments information on growing surfaces and expected yields of the current year. This data is confidential and only IBA members can access it.
We collect statistics in our annual conferences or meetings. Errors in the evaluation and estimations may occur, as well as mistakes in the data sheet.
The information we provide is based on good faith and free from interpretation.
