Travelling to Christchurch
For everybody outside New Zealand, the journey takes at least 25h and will have at least one stopover.
You can reach Christchurch directly by flights through:
- the Middle East (Emirates via Duba)
- Asia (Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong, Singapore Airlines via Singapore, Air New Zealand via Tokyo)
- Australia (via Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane on Air New Zealand, Qantas or Jetstar)
- USA (China Southern via Guangzhou)
- … or if you want a tropical holiday on the way there or back, via Fiji (Fiji Airways)
… and of course there are many more options via Auckland (New Zealand). There are direct domestic flights between Auckland and Christchurch on Air New Zealand and Jetstar hourly.

For travel to the city from Christchurch airport, there are Shuttles available for small groups for around 7 € – 10 € per person: Airport Shuttle Transfers | NZ’s First Choice | SuperShuttle. Standard Taxis cost around 30 € and Ubers between 10 € and 15 € one way.
